Pupil Intake 1957-59^*
 

I am not certain what drives some people to make contact with their schoolmates of 40 years ago nor why others appear to have no interest.  Personally, I am taking more of an interest in the people and events that have shaped my life.  I enjoy exchanging those shared experiences, many of which have now dimmed considerably and which give pleasure when I am reminded of some person or event I had forgotten.

This site is about creating a snapshot of history for a very specific group of pupils from one school.  Its focus is on all of the pupils registered for the three intake years, all of the teachers from when the first pupil joined in 1957 until the last one left in 1966, who won what trophies for what, which house won the cup each year, what concerts were performed, what plays were presented etc etc.

The site is free and will continue to be so; the only contribution I ask is your help in achieving my goal for this site.  This is a temporary holding page for the re-launched site - I am hoping to add more structure and facilities in the near future but until this is accomplished, I shall not be adding more content.

1. * If you served your full time, you left 1964-66 but this site is for everyone in the intake years or who enrolled later and joined the same year groups.
2. Further to the reunion on Friday 8th July 2005, Ron informed me that the school had never been known as Thornbridge Grammar on Mr Snook's insistence.  For 40 years I have been mistaken (and so was Mr Pearson who also believed it had been called Grammar).  Until I have the forum up an running you will need to wait to comment on this issue.
3. Had been hoping to move forward with the new site a little faster but other priorities sometimes take over.  However, so as not to lose the freshness of 8th July, I have uploaded those from Pete, Brenda and myself.   Anyone else has some, will be happy to load them up as well.  Click here.to view photo pages.
