Alice married Joseph Softley at St Nicholas, Newcastle on Tyne.

census where the family was shown living at Newburn Hall, Nbl. Joseph
(Snr) was noted as a glassmaker. His place of birth was not recorded.
Alice was shown as aged 42 in the 1881 census but as 10 months in the
1841 census. The 1841 census was on 6th June and the 1881 census on 3rd
April. Therefore the two ages are inconsistent and the 1881 age has been
assumed. Joseph was shown as aged 41 in the 1881 census.
