As far as is known Alice Ivy was an only child although there were 8 infant/child
deaths of Hedleys in Sheffield between January 1878 and December 1893 any one of
which may possibly have been associated with Arthur and Ann.
At the time of the 1881 census, Arthur was a railway porter and his wife a French
Polisher. They lived at 19 Copper Street, Sheffield. At the time of the 1901
census, Arthur was a porter at the Town Hall, Sheffield (Ann did not work) and
they lived at 15 North Street, Sheffield.
